About Us

Deaf Access Now is a Deaf-centered community organization committed to ensuring Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals receive timely, equitable access to essential services. We exist because access delays, communication barriers, and lack of cultural understanding continue to prevent Deaf individuals from receiving the support they deserve.

Our work is rooted in advocacy, accessibility, and community accountability. We believe that Deaf people should never have to wait, struggle, or advocate alone to receive basic services.

Our Mission

Deaf Access Now exsists to close the persistent accessibility gaps faced by Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals in healthcare, housing, and social service systems.  While progress has been made, many spaces remain inaccessible due to language barriers and a lack of cultural competence.  We are a Deaf-centered community based organization providing boots-on-the ground support, advocacy, and navigation to ensure access is not delayed, denied, or dependent on privilege. We are committed to bridging more Access for Deaf consumers NOW not later.

Our Approach

Deaf Access now is founded by a CODA (child of Deaf adults) and is built in close partnership with Deaf community members. While we are not Deaf-led, we are Deaf-centered, meaning Deaf voices, culture, and lived experience guide our service, programs, priorities, and accountability.

Our Core Values
  • Deaf-Centered

  • Community Accountable

  • Trust-Based

  • Equity-Driven

  • Access as a Right
